One of the most respected Nigerian, Prof Attahiru Jega bowed out of office as the chairman of INEC today, after he was nominated five years ago by the president. He conducted the 2015 election which is believed to be the freest and fairest poll ever conducted in Nigeria.
At a brief ceremony at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Jega handed
over to a national commissioner, Mohammed Wali from Sokoto state, who
becomes acting chairman of the commission.
